Zac Murphy's leg is getting a workout. The Miami (Ohio) redshirt senior punted nine times in the RedHawks' opener against Marshall and 11 more times Saturday against Kentucky. The RedHawks lost those games by a combined 93-21.

Murphy's 20 punts are most in the nation. What's impressive, though, is that the redshirt senior is averaging 48.8 yards to rank fifth nationally. None of the four punters ahead of him has kicked half as many times.

Also notable: Toledo running back David Fluellen did a bit of everything in a loss to Missouri. He ran 14 times for 111 yards and caught 10 passes for another 100 ... California freshman Jared Goff goes into this week's showdown with Ohio State as the leading in passing yards. Goff is throwing for 465 yards a game after completing 33 of 51 for 485 yards and two TDs against Portland State.
