Sandy Wechsler wouldn't let her husband, Ted, outdo her with a hole-in-one in December. When Ted hit a hole-in-one at the Desert Trails Golf Course in Sun City, Ariz., Sandy responded with an ace herself three holes later.
"I was happy for him but, in a way, I was angry that it wasn't me," Sandy Wechsler told KTVK, a local station in Phoenix. "(I was) a little jealous. ... I wanted one."
Ted used his "trusty" 6-iron on the 142-yard 14th hole and Sandy hit a 9-iron on the 86-yard 17th. Desert Trails is a par-61 executive course.
"It really felt good," Ted said of his tee shot.
The pair from South Dakota has been playing golf for about 40 years, but could play for 40 more and never have quite the same day. The odds of it happening again are between 60-70 million to one.
The couple commemorated the incredibly unlikely event by keeping their golf balls, scorecards and certificates provided by the course.
