Just when you thought the Neftali Feliz debate was settled, the fire started raging again.

After the club traded Frank Francisco to Toronto in exchange for Mike Napoli, all signs pointed to Feliz staying in the ninth inning, speculation that general manager Jon Daniels did not confirm but strongly hinted at when speaking to the media on a conference call on Tuesday.

"The decision on Neftali is going to come down to what's best long-term for him and the club," Daniels said. "Obviously, there is a short-term component to it as well and in that regard, trading Frankie will impact our thinking."

The organization appeared to backtrack on some of that thinking on Tuesday night, however, when assistant GM Thad Levine spoke to SiriusXM radio host Mike Ferrin and indicated that the club will give Feliz every opportunity to start in 2011.
