No. 1 seed Texas Tech beats K-State in Big 12 tournament
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Tyler Neslony drove in the tiebreaking run in the sixth inning, four Texas Tech relievers combined to hold Kansas State to one hit over the last five innings and the Red Raiders came from behind to win 8-5 in the Big 12 tournament on Wednesday.
The top-seeded Red Raiders (41-14) trailed 5-2 in the fifth before tying it on RBI singles by Corey Raley, Eric Gutierrez and Hunter Hargrove. Neslony's bases-loaded single and a sacrifice fly gave Tech a two-run lead in the sixth.
The Wildcats (26-30) got to Ty Damron for five runs on five hits and two walks in four innings. Parker Mushinski, Robert Dugger (5-0), Dalton Brown and Hayden Howard allowed two baserunners the rest of the way.
Mitch Zubradt (2-1), the second of three relievers for Corey Fischer, took the loss.
Texas Tech plays West Virginia on Thursday afternoon. K-State meets Oklahoma in a morning elimination game.
