The NFL once again has attempted to mend fences with the 400 fans who were left without a seat at the Super Bowl by making its most lucrative offer yet.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league emailed an offer to the fans to either reimburse "actual documented" Super Bowl expenses, or $5,000, whichever figure amounts to more, according to a report by The Associated Press.
This is the NFL's third offer to the fans and the most lucrative yet.
"As you may know, we have been reaching out directly to those fans who regrettably and inexcusably were unable to watch Super Bowl XLV from a seat in Cowboys Stadium," the e-mail read. "In listening to your feedback, we have decided to offer a third option."
The first offer was for three times the face value of the tickets in that section, which totaled $2,400, and a ticket to next year's Super Bowl. The second offer entailed a ticket to any future Super Bowl as well as airfare and hotel costs.
