WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT OUR OPPONENT

[Gratuitous self-congratulatory mention: My merciless trashing of our opponent finally paid off against the New Jersey Devils! Nothing quite like beating a bad team when they are down. But I said that the CBJ should win that game, and they did. Whaddya know? Is the DBJ jinx gone?]

The Toronto Maple Leafs of 2013-14 arguably are the best team in the NHL’s Eastern Conference, not to mention one of the best teams in the league, after ten games.

The best. Toronto Maple Leafs. Really.

The Leafs have 14 standings points, as good as any other team in the conference. In the West, Chicago, Colorado, San Jose and Vancouver have more (but I think we all understand that the West has been pounding on the East thus far this season).
