Texas has been invading the territory of "The U."

Five players from the state of Florida have made verbal commitments to the Longhorns, and the latest is none other than the nephew of Hurricanes legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin.

Tim Irvin, a four-star defensive back from Palmetto Bay, Fla., announced at the US Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio on Saturday that he's moving to the Lone Star State.

Irvin had offers from Alabama, Ohio State and nearly every powerhouse program in the nation, including Miami.

First-year Texas coach Charlie Strong has strong ties to the state of Florida. He was the Gators' defensive coordinator from 2003-09.

The Longhorns currently have the No. 4 recruiting class, according to Scout.com.
