Negron gets start as Phillips rests foot
Brandon Phillips missed back-to-back games against the Braves earlier this month due to turf toe. Phillips was out of the Reds lineup on Tuesday, with Kristopher Negron getting the start at second back.
Phillips took to Twitter to explain to fans his absence from the lineup.
Well, sorry #RedsCountry but I had to give my foot a break! Even Superman had to take his cape to the cleaners, so I've been #Toed?

"I think he aggravated it in Cleveland [on Saturday] a little bit," Reds manager Bryan Price said per MLB.com. "Until you see it on the field, you're not going to hear much about it from Brandon. He's not going to alert anyone about it. He just plans to go out there and play, and then when it becomes noticeable, it becomes one of those situations where we take the lead to make sure he's getting adequate treatment and he's not going to continue to aggravate it.
