PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Northern Arizona women's soccer team took an early lead Sunday against Portland State but was unable to hold on, as the Vikings came back to defeat the Lumberjacks 2-1 in overtime and stay perfect in Big Sky play.

The loss was the first on the road this season for NAU. The Lumberjacks were able to get on the scoreboard first on a first-half penalty kick from Cierra Gamble. The tally gave Gamble her sixth point -- three goals and three assists -- in the past four games. It was also her fourth goal of the season, tying her for second on the team.

The Lumberjacks' defense was under heavy pressure throughout the entire match, with the Vikings putting up 19 shots, six of them being on goal. NAU had just five shots and one on goal.

Trailing 1-0, Portland State got the tying goal in the 63rd minute from Eryn Brown. That completed the scoring in regulation, but in overtime, the Vikings' Cori Bianchini tallied the golden goal in the 97th minute.

NAU finished its road trip with a 1-1 record and is now 3-2 in Big Sky play.
