OREM, Utah (AP) -- Quitnon Upshur scored 26 points, including all five Northern Arizona points in overtime, and Max Jacobsen added 16 as NAU upset conference leader Weber State 73-71 Saturday night.
Upshur went 5 for 9 from 3-point range and Jacobsen finished 8 of 11 from the field for the Lumberjacks (13-16, 10-8 Big Sky), who shot 50 percent from behind the arc.
A layup by Upshur with 1:43 remaining gave NAU a 65-54 lead, but Weber State (16-10, 13-5) used a 12-2 run, sparked by a 3-pointer and capped by a layup from Davion Berry, to pull within one with 38 seconds to go.
Upshur made 1 of 2 free throws before Berry was fouled while making a layup with 9 seconds left in regulation. He missed the free throw, sending the game into overtime.
Upshur's 3-pointer with 11 seconds left in the extra frame proved to be the game-winner.
Berry had 23 points for Weber State, which suffered its first home Big Sky loss this season, snapping a league-record 27-game home win streak. The Wildcats also had won 12 straight against the Lumberjacks.
"Q made a great hard cut, took the shot and knocked it down," NAU coach Jack Murphy said of the winning 3-pointer. "This was a great team win. They dug deep, and I couldn't have asked for more. We handed Weber State its first conference home loss of the season. It feels good to finally get a win over them."
NAU took conrol early in the first half, as Upshur connected on four 3-pointers, Jacobsen had six points and freshman forward Ako Kaluna added seven points off the bench. The Lumberjacks shot 46.7 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes and took a 37-28 lead into the intermission.
Jacobsen then scored the first eight points for NAU to start the second half, extending the Lumberjacks' lead to 45-32.
NAU led by as many as 15 points with 15:56 to go before Weber State slowly made its way back into the game, setting up the wild finish.
