Nats claim Twins' Tyler Robertson off waivers

The Minnesota Twins didn't wind up having enough room for Tyler Robertson this spring.
The team they face on the road this weekend does, though.
Four days after the Twins designated Robertson for assignment, the Washington Nationals claimed him off waivers. The left-handed pitcher was bumped to clear space for outfielder Clete Thomas, whom Minnesota called up from Triple-A Rochester on Monday.
Robertson made the Opening Day roster before being optioned to Rochester on April 6. In two major league appearances, he completed one full inning, giving up a home run and compiling an ERA of 9.00.
Minnesota takes on Washington at 3:05 p.m. Saturday and in a doubleheader Sunday after Friday's game was postponed due to Tropical Storm Andrea's trip up the East Coast.
