We feel pretty good calling this the coolest granny shot of all time.

Here's the story: Bethany Academy, a private school in suburban Minneapolis, recently held a fundraiser to support a meal-packing project for charity. Student Grace Ramey won first place by raising $1,200, which earned her a special opportunity. If she could make a halfcourt basketball shot, she would get $5,000 off her next year's tuition. Grace's mother Angela was with her, and the two debated who was going to take the shot. Angela got the honor. Here's what happened next:

Yes, a one-hop shot right into the basket. After the ball initially hits the floor, Angela turns away, thinking she's missed. When she realizes what has happened, the reaction is priceless. It's all capped by Grace shouting, "Thank you for taking a video of this!" into the camera at the end. The local NBA team could certainly use some of that magic.

Ramey's Shocked Shot

The unbelieveable half-court alley-oop shot and Angela's shocked reaction when she realizes the ball went in the basket! Thanks Alex Matheson (videographer and BA dad) for capturing Angela Ramey and Grace last Friday, deciding who's going to take the shot to try to score half-off tuition next year. Angela throws the basketball granny style with her eyes closed, then screams in disbelief when the cheering students and staff convince her she scored. She's jumping amid 41,040 meals packed by 235 students during Friday's "Bethany Loves Bloomington" meal packing event Friday, a service project undertaken to help feed the hungry in Bloomington and the surrounding communities. The Ramey's won the chance for the half-court/half-tuition prize by being the family who raised the most money during the school's fundraiser.

The shot happened back on Dec. 4, but the story has picked up steam in the last two weeks. The Ramey family even went on "Good Morning America" on Thursday to discuss the whole situation, and Angela got to try her hand at a follow-up shot:

The school packed over 41,000 meals as a result of the project. Well done all around, Bethany Academy.
