The college football world watched Florida State QB Jameis Winston debut in sparkling fashion Monday night at Heinz Field with a 25-of-27, 356 yard, four touchdown performance against Pitt. It was the highest completion percentage in FSU history (with a minimum of 15 attempts).

Winston generated a ton of buzz from impressed NFL players:

Oklahoma State starting QB Clint Chelf was not as impressive Saturday against Mississippi State.

Chelf was 3-6 for 11 yards in two ineffective, first-half series before giving way to sophomore J.W. Walsh.

All Walsh did was accumulate 135 passing yards and 125 rushing yards and lead OSU to a 21-3 win.

Chelf's benching did not go over well with his older brother, and he now finds himself as the second-string QB.

Some other notable debuts this weekend:

-Nebraska's defense was shredded in last year's Big Ten title game. After nearly losing to Wyoming in week one, its defensive coordinator said the first game of 2013 was a bad dream.

-Oregon's first game without Chip Kelly? School-record 772 yards of offense. The Ducks travel to UVA this weekend -€“ good luck to Ronde Barber's Cavaliers.

-Finally, South Florida had a cute 'get on the bus' video this offseason to drum up support for the program. Well, the Bulls lost to McNeese State 53-21 and are 17.5 point underdogs on the road at Michigan State this weekend. Could be a long bus ride for usf supporters this season.
