The Minnesota Twins had a high selection in the draft yet again after their fourth straight 90-loss season. With the sixth overall pick on Monday, Minnesota took left-hander Tyler Jay out of the University of Illinois. The picks continued to roll in through Wednesday. Here's a look at every player the Twins selected in the 2015 Major League Baseball amateur draft, with comments from Twins scouting director Deron Johnson.
Round 13, pick 380 -- RHP Cody Stashak (6-2, 180), St. John's University: Stashak began his collegiate career at Cumberland Country College but played for St. John's in the 2015 season. He went 7-4 with a 3.57 ERA, posting 69 strikeouts and 24 walks in 16 starts (85 2/3 innings).
Round 15, pick 440 -- LHP Anthony McIver (6-5, 210), University of San Diego: Mciver pitched in just two games last year as a junior for USD before going 3-2 with a 3.77 ERA in 21 games (four starts) as a senior in 2015. He began his college baseball career at Notre Dame before transferring to Palomar College and then San Diego. Mciver was also a standout basketball player in high school.
Round 16, pick 470 -- RF Lean Marrero (5-10, 160), Leadership Christian Academy: Marrero is originally from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, the same hometown as Twins pitching prospect Jose Berrios.
Round 18, pick 530 -- CF Daniel Kihle (5-11, 200), Wichita State: Hit .301/.387/.390 during his junior season with the Shockers, including four homers, 29 RBI and 21 stolen bases. Kihle also played in the Cape Cod League with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks.
Round 20, pick 590 -- RHP Colton Eastman (6-3, 185), Central Union (Calif.) High School: Eastman, who hails from the Fresno, Calif., area, reportedly touches 92 mph with his fastball but sits in the high-80s to low-90s. He also features a curveball and changeup in his repertoire. He's committed to play for Cal State Fullerton next year.
Round 21, pick 620 -- OF Kamran Young (5-11, 190), Cal State Dominguez Hills: Young led the Toros by batting .388/.507/.697 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI in 54 games as he earned All-America honors during his junior year. Young began at College of the Canyons before playing the last two seasons at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Round 23, pick 680 -- SS Alex Perez (5-10, 180), Virginia Tech: Perez started all 54 games for the Hokies this season and hit .322/.434/.507 with 35 RBI, seven RBI and a team-high 56 runs. He proved durable during his four years at Virginia Tech, starting all 224 games in that four-year span.
Round 24, pick 710 -- CF Jaylin Davis (6-1, 190), Appalachian State: Davis played in just 18 games this season and hit .262 with two homers and nine RBI in that stretch. The speedy Davis, who has 11 career triples, was an All-American as a freshman.
Round 25, pick 740 -- RHP Logan Lombana (6-3, 220), Cal State Long Beach: Lombana pitched exclusively as a reliever this season, making 26 appearances out of the bullpen. He posted a 4.34 ERA while striking out 27 batters and walking nine in 29 innings. Lombana also played soccer in high school.
Round 26, pick 770 -- RF Tyler Williams (6-3, 220), Raymond S. Kellis (Ariz.) High School: Williams made the rounds on baseball showcase circuits during high school, including the Perfect Game showcase. Perfect Game calls the Peoria native a "big time talent."
Round 28, pick 830 -- RF Jonathan Engelmann (6-4, 210), Burlingame (Calif.) High School: A former infielder, Engelmann possesses some raw power and is a switch hitter. He's committed to play for the University of Michigan.
Round 29, pick 860 -- C Brad Hartong (6-4, 215), Indiana University: Hartong was a senior this year with the Hoosiers and batted .303/.366/.385 with 28 RBI in 59 games. He was first-team All-Big Ten as a junior in 2014 but had his season end early with a spleen injury.
Round 30, pick 890 -- CF Greg Popylisen (6-0, 175), El Paso Community College: This season with El Paso CC, Popylisen batted .364/.440/.424 and drove in 16 runs in 37 games. He doesn't hit for much power (just five extra-base hits in 2015) but did steal 23 bases in 26 attempts.
Round 32, pick 950 -- LHP Andrew Vazquez (6-5, 210), Westmont College: Vasquez pitched in 16 games and made 15 starts this season, going 7-1 with a 3.06 ERA. He also had three complete games -- including two shutouts -- and racked up 124 strikeouts in 85 1/3 innings.
Round 33, pick 980 -- C Colin Theroux (6-3, 220), San Joaquin Delta College: As a sophomore this year, Theroux hit .273 with a .430 on-base percentage. He hit eight homers and drove in 40 runs, both of which were team highs.
Round 34, pick 1,010 -- C Brian Olson (6-0, 190), Seattle University: Olson played in all 58 of Seattle's games this year, including 57 starts. He hit .267 with a team-high 14 doubles and also drove in 29 runs. Olson also played first base in college.
Round 38, pick 1,130 -- CF Alex McKenna (6-1, 195), Bishop Alemany (Calif.) High School: McKenna competed with the USA Baseball 17U National Team Development Program and is committed to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Round 39, pick 1,160 -- LHP Daniel Tillo (6-5, 215), Sioux City (Iowa) North High School: Tillo was a three-sport athlete at Sioux City North as he also exceled at basketball -- he was a two-time all-state forward -- and football as a quarterback. He's committed to play baseball at Kentucky.
