LOS ANGELES -- Angels center fielder Mike Trout sat out Friday night's game against the Dodgers on Friday night because of the flu.

"He's just got a little stomach bug," Angels manager Mike Scioscia told reporters before the game. "He won't be available tonight, hopefully tomorrow. It's been going through a lot of the guys."

Trout is having an exceptional spring. He's hitting .407 with a team-leading five home runs and 16 RBIs. Scioscia said he hopes Trout will be able to play Saturday night in Anaheim rather than sit out three days before the season opener Monday night against the Seattle Mariners at Angel Stadium.

"We'll see how he is (Saturday)," Scioscia said. "You always want to keep your edge. We'll weight these factors very carefully."
