DETROIT -- The Tigers' sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays was made more difficult during the second inning Thursday at Comerica Park.

Third baseman Miguel Cabrera had to leave the game with two outs in the top of the second. He appeared to injure his right ankle while running out a fly ball in the first inning. Cabrera has been nagged by a problem with his left ankle for the past few weeks.

The team announced that he had left the game with right ankle soreness, and is day-to-day.

Cabrera came into the game batting .326 with 31 home runs and 105 RBIs but is currently in an 0-for-9 skid at the plate.

Ramon Santiago replaced Cabrera at third base.

The Tigers won, 3-2, in 11 innings.
