Middle Tennessee duo earn conference and region honors
LINCOLN, Ill. - Future Blue Raiders Ryan Aper and Jake Ingold were named to the Mid-West Athletic Conference (M-WAC) First Team last week. The duo also earned 2013 All-Region Team honors, with Aper taking home the 2013 Region 24 Player of the Year accolade. The two signed last November to join the Middle Tennessee baseball team for the 2014 season.
Aper served as the leadoff hitter for the Lincoln Land Community College Loggers this year. Aper led the Loggers in runs (82), hits (96), doubles (17), triples (12) home runs (17), RBI (55) total bases (188) and amassed a .540 on-base percentage. The Lincoln, Ill., native also slugged .904 and swiped 52 bases on the season.
Ingold hit .411 on the season to go along with 13 home runs, both good for second on the team. The Chatham, Ill., native finished just behind Aper with 52 RBI and a .700 slugging percentage.
