DETROIT (AP) -- Andrew Copp scored twice, and Michigan used a four-goal second period to post a 6-2 upset of Miami (Ohio) in a CCHA semifinal on Saturday night at Joe Louis Arena.

The Wolverines will take on Notre Dame in the conference final on Sunday (2:30 p.m. on FOX Sports Detroit), with the winner earning the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Notre Dame defeated Ohio State 3-1 in the other semifinal.

A.J. Treais had a goal and an assist in Michigan's second-period outburst that followed a scoreless first. The Red Hawks received a goal from Sean Kuraly at 17:14 of the second, but top-seeded Miami (24-11-5) still trailed 4-1 headed into the third and couldn't recover.

Michigan (18-18-3) is the No. 4 seed of the tournament.
