Michalek out indefinitely; Coyotes recall Klesla

The Coyotes announced Thursday that defenseman Zbynek Michalek will be out indefinitely with a lower-body injury. Michalek left during the first period of Tuesday night's loss to the Canadiens and did not return. The team did not specify the extent of his injury.

In a coinciding move, the Coyotes recalled defenseman Rusty Klesla from the Portland Pirates, the team's America Hockey League affiliate.

Klesla, a 31-year-old veteran, played six games with the Pirates after being set down earlier this month after the Coyotes expressed disappointment with his level of play. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder recorded a goal, an assist and a plus-1 rating in Portland. He appeared in 15 games with the Coyotes before the demotion, totaling a goal and two assists.
