Michael McDowell Can't Live Down Scary Texas Wreck

Michael McDowell, who drives the No. 98 NASCAR Sprint Cup Ford Fusion owned by FOX Sports commentator Phil Parsons, is a legend in Texas, but probably not for the reasons he would like to be. McDowell's infamy is not because of an amazing victory or being part of a thrilling finish, but because of a sick crash he was fortunate to emerge from. 

Back when he drove for another FOX Sports on-air personality, Michael Waltrip, McDowell had the most terrifying Sprint Cup crash ever at Texas Motor Speedway.

It was April 2008 during qualifying at TMS, when McDowell did a series of barrel rolls in the No. 00 Aaron's Dream Machine Toyota, spewing parts as the car came to a stop. 

The best part of the story is that McDowell walked away. In fact, he spent the next few days on a national media tour, reliving and recounting his wild ride. 

And every time he comes back to Texas, somebody reminds him of it, as McDowell's tweet on Friday noted:
