CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Miami rising senior cornerback Antonio Crawford is no longer part of the football program, UM officially announced on Saturday.
Crawford, who played in 38 games (two starts) from 2012-14, had not been participating in spring practice and had expressed his discontent via social media over the past week.
In a tweet last weekend, the 5-foot-11, 190 pounder posted "I'm like a piece of gold that gets treated like a piece of silver, therefore I'm out!!" before deleting it.
A former three-star recruit from Tampa Plant High School, Crawford recorded 58 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and five pass breakups over three seasons.
Miami's remaining cornerbacks are senior Tracy Howard, juniors Artie Burns and Jamal Carter, sophomore Corn Elder and redshirt freshman Ryan Mayes. Sheldrick Redwine and Michael Jackson will arrive after their high school graduations. Crawford was listed behind Burns on the depth chart.
