SAN DIEGO - On behalf of the Gwynn family, the San Diego Padres today announced that a free, public memorial tribute to Tony Gwynn will be held on Thursday, June 26 at 7:19 p.m. at Petco Park. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Fans may enter through the Home Plate or Park Boulevard gates on Park Blvd., as well as the Gaslamp Gate on 7th Ave. or the East Village gate on 10th Ave.
The event will celebrate Tony's legendary life, accomplishments, and contributions to the Padres, to San Diego, and to the sport of baseball. It will feature special guests from throughout his lifetime. Free parking will be provided in three locations: two surface lots along Imperial Avenue (Parcel C lot and Tailgate lot) on the southeast side of Petco Park, and the Padres Parkade garage (10th Ave at J St).
Public Transportation Information for Tony Gwynn Memorial Service
The Padres are expecting a large crowd for Thursday's memorial for Tony Gwynn. Free parking is expected to fill early so please use public transportation if possible. Gates are opening at 5:30 with the ceremony starting at 7:19. Here are some details on parking and mass transit for Thursday’s service:
Free parking will be provided in three locations: two surface lots along Imperial Avenue (Parcel C lot and Tailgate lot) on the southeast side of Petco Park, and the Padres Parkade garage (10th Ave at J St).
Additional downtown garages will offer paid parking at their discretion.
All three MTS Trolley lines will offer direct service to Petco Park - The Green Line through Mission Valley will offer increased service to Petco Park starting at 5:38 p.m. There are multiple free park and ride locations along the Green Line, including 5,000 free parking spots at Qualcomm Stadium.
MTS Trolley will also offer increased outbound service.
NCTD Coaster southbound trains will leave Oceanside at 5:04pm and 5:40pm. Coaster trains serve all North County coastal areas, including Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach and Sorrento Valley. RegionPlus fares include free transfer to the Trolley at Santa Fe Depot.
Coaster will offer northbound return trains at departing at 9:05 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

SAN DIEGO - FOX Sports San Diego (FSSD) will broadcast the San Diego Padres' public memorial tribute to Tony Gwynn at Petco Park live tomorrow starting at 7:00 PM PST, preceded by two full hours of programming dedicated to the life and legacy of Tony Gwynn.
