McCall leads Saint Louis past Duquesne 62-51

Mike McCall scored 18 points as Saint Louis kept Duquesne in a tailspin with a 62-51 victory Saturday night.

Jordair Jett added 14 points and Brian Conklin 11 for the Billikens (11-17, 5-9 Atlantic 10), who won their third in a row. Dwayne Evans grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.

Damian Saunders posted team highs of 15 points and eight rebounds for the Dukes (17-10, 9-5), who lost for the fifth time in their last six games. Bill Clark scored 11 points, and B.J. Monteiro added 10.

Trailing 21-20 late in the first half, the Billikens closed with a 9-2 spurt for a 29-23 edge at intermission.

The Dukes trimmed their deficit to 38-37 on Sean Johnson's free throw with 11:59 left.

But Rob Loe's 3-pointer helped keep Saint Louis in front the rest of the way. However, the lead did not reach double figures until the final minute.
