MINNEAPOLIS — Twins catcher Joe Mauer left Sunday's game with a bruised right quad and is listed as day-to-day, the team announced.

Mauer suffered the injury during a collision at home plate with Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks in the second inning. Mauer tagged Weeks for the out but was slow to get up. He stayed in the game but was lifted for a pinch runner in the seventh inning after hitting a game-tying single.

Mauer missed Saturday's game with a sore hamstring but was back in the lineup one day later. The three-time batting champion played in just 82 games last season but had missed just five games this season prior to Sunday. The Twins have an off day Monday before starting a three-game series in Pittsburgh.

Mauer went 3-for-4 with two RBI on Sunday before he was taken out of the game. He's now batting .314 with 33 RBI this season.
