Matt Duffy's fat cat Skeeter in 'the best shape of his life' entering spring training

Thanks to some offseason dieting, San Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Duffy's fat cat Skeeter is in "the best shape of his life."

"He's been on a diet forever," Duffy, the 2015 NL Rookie of the Year runner-up told San Francisco-based KNBR (watch video above). "He's still a big boy. His belly still sways. If you see him coming at you, you can see his belly swaying outside of his feet. And you've got to lock him out of the kitchen when the other two are eating."

Skeeter has slimmed down from a high of a kettlebell-ish 35 pounds to roughly 27, so he's shed more than 20 percent of his body weight. That's solid, though Skeeter is still "husky," so there's more work to be done.
