Mason's a team player

When the Thrashers signed goalie Chris Mason as a free agent in July, they did so because he was the ultimate team guy. General manager Rick Dudley knew this because Mason was a minor-leaguer in Florida's organization when Dudley served as GM with the Panthers. Thrashers associate coach John Torchetti, though he had not been hired at the time the Thrashers signed Mason, knew it because he was coach of San Antonio (AHL) when Mason played there.
