The Marlins trimmed their roster by four Tuesday morning with Opening Day less than a week away.

Right-handed relievers Arquimedes Caminero and Carter Capps were optioned to Triple-A New Orleans.

Caminero, who earned his call-up last season and allowed four runs over 13 innings, went 1-0 with a 2.00 ERA in seven spring appearances. He struck out nine batters and walked just one.

The 26-year-old has options, so this move seems to indicate the possible inclusion of hard-throwing non-roster invitee Henry Rodriguez in the bullpen.

Prior to his past two innings -- five runs on six hits -- Rodriguez had surrendered just one run on four hits over seven frames.

Capps, acquired this offseason from the Mariners for Logan Morrison, rebounded from a rough start (18.00 ERA) to lower it to 3.60. Over eight spring outings, he gave up four runs on five hits with eight strikeouts, five walks and two hit batters.

The 23-year-old worked with a new delivery that emphasized using his legs more. He has 71 big-league games of experience between 2012-13.

"Nobody knows who I am, got to go out there and give it my best shot every day," Capps said earlier this spring. "You might get one look at you and want to make a good first impression."

Non-roster invitee Chaz Roe was reassigned to minor-league camp.

Roe, 27, finished 1-0 with a 4.03 ERA in 21 games with the Diamondbacks in 2013. He allowed at least one run in six of his nine spring outings, driving his ERA to 13.50.

Infielder Ty Wigginton, also a non-roster invitee, was released. The 12-year veteran hit just .147 (5 for 34) with two runs and an RBI.

There are now 34 players in major-league camp.
