March swagness: Kyrie Irving hooks up Duke with signature shoe
Shoes are a big deal for Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving. Now that he has his own signature sneaker, he's hooking up his alma mater in advance of the NCAA tournament.
Irving sent a Duke-themed, blue-and-black version of his Nike Kyrie 1 shoes to the team, according to current players Marshall Plumlee and Amile Jefferson.
As Yahoo Sports points out, no worries about any kind of NCAA rule-breaking here as Duke gets its shoes from Nike, so this likely fits into that.
Irving's play of late has been spectacular. Rocking some Kyrie-inspired swag certainly can't hurt the chances of the Blue Devils, the No. 1 seed in the South Region, when they begin their tourney chase Friday against the winner of North Florida vs. Robert Morris.
