Magic set to host Orlando Pro Summer League in July
The Orlando Magic announced Thursday they will again host the Orlando Pro Summer League at their Amway Center practice facility July 4-10 and, in a change from previous years, field two of the 10 teams.
The Magic are scheduled to have the fifth pick in the first round of the NBA draft June 25. Both of their rosters will consist primarily of rookies and free agents, although all three of their selections from a year ago -- first-rounders Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton, plus second-rounder Devyn Marble -- will likely participate for at least part of the seven-day event.
Joining the Magic will be the Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder. Due to space limitations, the event is not open to the public and will be open only to the media as well as team and league personnel.
NBA TV will televise the event, with a complete schedule of games and broadcast information to be released at a later date.
