ORLANDO, Fla. -- Nikola Vucevic and Kyle O'Quinn of the Orlando Magic took time Tuesday to trade places with Southwest Airlines employees. The airline, which is in its second year as the official airline of the Magic, invited current and former Magic players to swap roles for a day as part of the team's 25th anniversary.
The 7-foot Vucevic and the 6-10 O'Quinn both got to sit in the cockpit and also visited with passengers, signed autographs, and took boarding passes as part of the event.
Taking part along with Vucevic and O’Quinn were Magic community ambassadors Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw, as well as Magic mascot Stuff and the Magic Dancers. Anderson got the opportunity to marshal in a Southwest Airlines aircraft.
Vucevic is the Magic's second-leading scorer and leads them in rebounding with a 10.9 average. Although O'Quinn has missed the last two games because of a sprained right ankle, he is tied with Vucevic for the team lead in blocked shots.
The Magic, who have lost five of their last six games after getting off to a 3-2 start, are next in action Saturday night at Miami.
