MINNEAPOLIS -- The Lynx's road to a women's professional basketball title winds through the South once again.
After sweeping Seattle and Phoenix to become the fourth team in league history to reach three straight WNBA Finals, Minnesota squares off with the Atlanta Dream in a best-of-five series looking for its second championship in three years. It was Atlanta the Lynx swept three games to none in 2011 for their first and only title.
They'll seek to avenge a 3-1 defeat to Indiana in last year's finals, starting at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 at the Target Center. Minnesota hosts Games 1 and 2 before traveling to Atlanta for Game 3 and Game 4 if necessary.
Should the series go five games, the teams would return to Minneapolis on Oct. 16 for the decider.
The No. 2 seed Dream swept the Fever in the Eastern Conference finals.
