Lunchtime links: Everything's bigger in Texas edition
Another weekend is in the books and does it feel like deja vu? Here are Monday's lunchtime links:
- Johnny Manziel spent some time in his home state of Texas -- and, of course, people on social media chronicled his actions. He was spotted floating on an inflatable swan in Austin, hanging courtside repping the Cavs at the NBA Finals - and, oh yeah, he was drafted by the San Diego Padres, joining other NFL quarterbacks to get selected in the MLB draft.
- The Indians continued their hot streak in Texas and a challenge by manager Terry Francona helped them out Sunday. Their catcher George Kottaras also won a cow-milking contest - when in Texas...
- Billy Hamilton hit another homer for the Reds (to drive in the pitcher), Jay Bruce scored a career milestone and Joey Votto ruined a minor leaguer's day in a rehab assignment.
- Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict is making less than $1 million but could soon be in for a much larger payday.
- The Browns were approached but decided against appearing on HBO's reality series "Hard Knocks."
- What's the "buzz" when it comes to the Blue Jackets this offseason?
