Lumberjacks ranked 16th by College Sporting News
In the latest preseason poll to come out, the Northern Arizona football team has been ranked 16th by the College Sporting News. The Lumberjacks have also received a Top 20 preseason ranking from Athlon, Lindy’s, The Sporting News and the FCS Coaches Polls.
NAU has completed one full week of fall camp and will open the season on Friday, Aug. 30, at the University of Arizona. The Lumberjacks have nine returning starters on both sides of the ball.
Four Lumberjacks -- running back Zach Bauman, defensive backs Anders Battle and Lucky Dozier and punter Andy Wilder -- have received preseason All-American honors. NAU also had a league-best six players selected to the All-Big Sky Preseason Team.
Three Big Sky rivals are ahead of NAU in the CSN rankings: No. 2 Montana State, No. 4 Eastern Washington and No. 15 Montana.
