Loudon Wrap-Up: Kenseth Kicks Off Chase With Back-To-Back Wins

Two Chase races, two wins for Matt Kenseth.

Points leader Kenseth backed up last weekend's Chase win at Chicagoland Speedway with another trip to victory lane, this time at the "Magic Mile" in Loudon, New Hampshire.

Kenseth grabbed the lead from Clint Bowyer with 92 laps remaining and held on through two late-race restarts to win Sunday's Sylvania 300.

"To win at Loudon is more than a stretch, more than a dream," Kenseth expressed in victory lane. "It's probably one of my worst places. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world to be standing here."

Kyle Busch finished second to give Joe Gibbs Racing a 1-2 finish for the second consecutive week.

"There's a reason why we think we're the best and we're showing it the first two weeks," Busch said. "The 20 had a lot more than us this weekend. Sometimes you get those magical cars. Hopefully there's a couple of those left for us this year."

Chase contenders Greg Biffle and Jimmie Johnson finished third and fourth, respectively, with Jamie McMurray in fifth.

After the first two Chase races, the title race is quickly becoming a battle between Kenseth, Busch and Johnson, with the three drivers being separated by 18 points.

However, don't count out Roush Fenway Racing's Carl Edwards (-36) and Biffle (-38), who sit fourth and fifth in the championship standings.

Of the 13 Chase drivers, Kasey Kahne suffered the biggest hit at Loudon when a wreck with 48 to go relegated him to a 37th-place finish.

After being released from the infield care center, Kahne gave one of the most bizarre interviews that left everyone scratching their heads.

Thankfully Kahne was OK and we could laugh it off.
