Texas junior defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat, one of the top defenders for the Longhorns, will miss the remainder of the season after rupturing his right pectoral muscle in the Oklahoma game.
Jeffcoat is scheduled to undergo surgery. Jeffcoat had surgery to repair his left pectoral muscle last January and recovered from that injury. He had two assists in Saturday's 63-21 loss before getting injured.
The 6-5, 245-pound Jeffcoat was on the watch lists for the Nagurski Trophy, the Bednarik Award, Lombardi Award and was a preseason All-Big 12 first-team selection.
Sophomore quarterback David Ash, who hurt his left wrist in the OU game, will be evaluated this week and has not been ruled out of the Baylor game. X-rays showed no fracture.
Ash was 13 of 29 for 113 yards and was intercepted twice before getting injured.
The Longhorns are also unsure of the status of defensive tackle Brandon Moore and offensive tackle Donald Hawkins. Both were hurt in Saturday's loss.
