Linebacker leaving Ohio State
An Ohio State spokesperson confirmed to Fox Sports Ohio that sophomore linebacker Luke Roberts asked for and was granted permission to pursue a transfer from the football program.
OSU did not confirm Roberts' ultimate destination but termed the parting "all positive."
Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch reported Roberts is headed to Harvard.
Roberts himself tweeted his appreciation to all those who have supported him in the time he has been at Ohio State.
Roberts signed with Ohio State as a member of the 2012 recruiting class. A three-star recruit from Lancaster, Ohio, he was one of a handful of players to verbally commit to the Buckeyes in the period of time after Jim Tressel was forced out of the head coaching position in May and before Urban Meyer was hired in November.
Roberts played in four games last season as a freshman but did not record a tackle.
