The Tampa Bay Lightning will open their home slate for the coming season against the familiar foe.
They will play the Florida Panthers on Oct. 9, the team announced Saturday. It will mark the third time in four seasons the Lightning have played their home opener against the intrastate foes.
The Lightning at 46-46-10-11 all time against the Panthers and swept the season series last year.
