MIAMI — February sure was great for the Miami Heat. And the honors are pouring in.

After the Heat went 12-1 during the month, Erik Spoelstra was named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month while LeBron James was named Player of the Month. But Spoelstra didn’t have much time to think about that before Friday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies at AmericanAirlines Arena.

“That’s obviously just a residual of team success,’’ Spoesltra said before the Heat put their 12-game winning streak on the line against the Grizzlies, who came in on an eight-game run. “I don’t think either one of us are spending much time thinking about that. It’s about (Friday’s game).’’

It marked the fourth time Spoelstra has been named Coach of the Month in his five seasons with the Heat. As for James, he’s won all four East awards this season for Player of the Month.

James averaged 29.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.8 steals in February. He shot 64.1 percent and became the first player in NBA history to score at least 30 points while shooting 60 percent or better in six straight games.
