The Lakers couldn't possibly lose to the Washington Wizards, could they?
Nah, but they made it interesting. Verrrry interesting.
The Lakers had a chance to dance through the Wizards, leading by 19 at one time, but the best they could do was a hang-on-to-your-seat 115-108 victory Tuesday at Staples Center.
The Lakers were supposed to breeze through the Wizards and their ugly 0-10 road record but couldn't fully relax until John Wall's 29-foot three-point attempt clanged off the back of the rim with 14.9 seconds to play, the Lakers up by four at the time.
Lakers Coach Phil Jackson wasn't thrilled, to say the least.
"They really sucked the joy of out winning that one, didn't they?" he said. "That's what I told them."
