Lady Buckeyes open season on aircraft carrier

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Ohio State returns four starters to its women's basketball team that will open its season against national runner-up Notre Dame on the USS Yorktown in Charleston, S.C., Harbor on Nov. 9.

That game will be followed by the Ohio State men taking on Marquette. Last year's Carrier Classic was held in San Diego on the USS Carl Vinson when North Carolina defeated Michigan State, a game attended by President Barack Obama

The women's team will also hit the road to take on North Carolina in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Nov. 28.

After a road swing to Washington State and Gonzaga, Ohio State opens conference play at Iowa on Jan. 3 and plays its first Big Ten home game against Illinois on Jan. 6. The Buckeyes close the regular season at home against rival Michigan on March 3.

All-Big Ten performer Tayler Hill and Big Ten defensive player of the year Amber Stokes lead the Buckeyes.

Game times and broadcast information will be announced later.
