Kuwait to host Under-19 football worlds
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Kuwait City will host the Under-19 World Championships for football, with the United States among eight nations entered.
Also competing from July 7-16 will be national teams from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Kuwait and Mexico. The United States won the inaugural event in 2009 in Canton, Ohio. Canada claimed the 2012 gold medal in Austin, Texas.
Highly successful prep school coach Aaron Brady of Malvern (Pennsylvania) Preparatory School will coach the Americans. Brady spent the last four seasons as the head coach at Gonzaga Prep in Washington, going 29-16. Brady also has coached at Duke and Georgetown, as well as at high schools in Florida, Maryland and New Jersey.
The IOC has granted the IFAF provisional recognition and a vote on adding football to the Olympic calendar could take place as early as 2017. USA Football is the U.S. delegate to the IFAF.
