Kraft sets world record in ski jumping

VIKERSUND, Norway (AP) Stefan Kraft set a ski jump world record during a World Cup on Saturday.
Kraft jumped 253.5 meters while representing Austria in the first round of the team competition. That beat the mark of 252 by Robert Johansson of Norway earlier in the event.
Before Saturday, the record was 251.5, by Anders Fannemel of Norway in 2015.
The Norwegian team won with a total of 1572.6 points from eight jumps. Poland was second on 1538.6. Kraft's Austrian team took third on 1465.4.

Kraft has enjoyed a stunning start to 2017, taking the lead in the individual World Cup standings and winning two gold medals at the world championships.
