When news hit of Dwight Howard's departure to the Houston Rockets, Kobe Bryant's reaction was to post a photo of himself and Lakers forward Pau Gasol locked in an embrace.
The caption reads: "#vamos #juntos #lakercorazon #vino (one of Kobe's nicknames for Gasol)." (The Spanish translation: “we go, together, Laker heart, wine.”
Bryant also stopped following Howard on Twitter after the news broke.
Bryant and Gasol teamed for NBA titles in 2009 and 2010.
Gasol's future with the Lakers is up in the air. In the final year of his contract, he's set to earn $19.3M.
