Kevin Durant to the Warriors Is Brilliant
I absolutely love Kevin Durant going to the Golden State Warriors. I thought Durant was too nice to make the move to a new city, but he showed some assassin in making this move -- it's always easier to stay than to go. And stop with the criticism -- nothing is more American than joining up with other people who also have great talents and creating something new and beautiful.
People didn't criticize LeBron for leaving Cleveland, they criticized him because of how he left. Durant's article on "The Player's Tribune," laid out his decision pretty succinctly. It was simply time for him to go.
That's why all these critics denigrating Durant are idiots -- Durant's move to San Francisco is exactly what countless titans of industry have done with their talents. Just like Mark Zuckerberg, Durant is taking his talents west to surrounce himself with the best talent. The result is going to be creating something we've never seen before -- the best basketball team in NBA history.
Can you imagine how much fun watching Durant, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green on the court at the same time will be? This is the greatest line up in the history of the NBA. Hell, it's even possible that all four of these guys could start on the Western Conference All Star team this year.
We've never seen anything like this.
And nothing is more American than this.
We didn't create the "Manhattan Project" by telling our best scientists to each come up with the atomic bomb, we brought them together and told them to create something brand new by working together. That's how most great American creations come to be, the idea of the lone genius toiling in obscurity is a myth -- we're the greatest country in the world because our most talented people band together and dare to dream greatly.
That's my biggest criticism, by the way, of Donald Trump -- I want all the hard working bad asses from other countries to come to America. I don't want to shut down our borders, I want them to do what Kevin Durant just did. Bring their supreme talents here and make us the world wide equivalent of the Golden State Warriors.
Here's my breakdown of the decision on Outkick.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to head back to the pool to drink some beer, eat some hotdogs and throw my kids high in the air to see how big of a splash we can make.
America, bitches!
Oh, and I do feel bad for Oklahoma City Thunder fans, but think of the bright side -- at least Bob Stoops didn't lose you the big game this time.
