Kansas fans take home goal post as souvenir
We've seen celebrations where fans tear down goal posts, but have you ever wondered what happened with the massive structure after the initial celebration?
Kansas Jayhawks fans were so excited they finally snapped their 27-game Big 12 losing streak that they stormed the field and tore down the posts.
Granted, the win was against struggling West Virginia team, but that doesn't matter. A win is a win, right?
Well, after they fell, Jayhawk fans threw the post in nearby Potter Lake (apparently, that's a Memorial Stadium tradition).
But then what? Well, one good samaritan decided to fetch the posts, or at least a large part of one, out of the lake to take home as a souvenir.
The post had to go through the front passenger window and out the back window to fit, but there was still an absurd amount of post hanging outside the vehicle.
That's got to be some form of traffic violation, right? And don't get us started on safety.
No word on what the fans will do with it.
Maybe attach a ball and have a really large tetherball post?
Or attach a flag and make it a flag pole?
Seriously, what can you do with 20-foot tall, bright yellow post?
