Kane, Tinnon help Marshall rally past UAB

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- DeAndre Kane had his first double-double of the season and Dennis Tinnon grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds as Marshall used a late surge to edge Alabama-Birmingham 61-59 Wednesday night and remain undefeated in Conference USA.

The Thundering Herd (12-4, 3-0), who trailed for nearly the entire game, used a 14-2 run to turn a 51-42 deficit with 10:14 remaining into a 56-53 lead with 4:02 to go.

The Blazers (5-10, 0-2) regained the lead on two baskets by Cameron Moore with 1:53 left. Following an offensive and a defensive rebound by Tinnon, Robert Goff converted a three-point play for the final margin with 41 seconds to go.

Kane had 21 points and 10 rebounds for Marshall, which trailed by as many as 10 in the first half.

Cameron Moore had 22 points to lead the Blazers, who have lost three straight, and Ovie Soko added 18 points and 11 rebounds.
