SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Justin Hutson has returned to San Diego State as an assistant men's basketball coach.

Hutson replaces Tony Bland, who was hired by Southern California last week. Hutson was with SDSU from 2006-2011 before serving as an associate head coach at UNLV the past two seasons.

Bland replaced Hutson when he went to UNLV.

Hutson was a key recruiter at SDSU, helping to land Kawhi Leonard, a first-round pick in the NBA draft in 2011, and Chase Tapley, a four-year starter.
