Joe Namath tweets for first time in months, calls out Darrelle Revis
Broadway Joe hasn’t had much to say this offseason, but took the first chance available to call out Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis. Surprising, right?
Revis, who has been rehabbing his surgically repaired knee in Arizona, has been on the trading block the past few months. On Monday, a report surfaced that the Jets insist the star cornerback report to an offseason conditioning program, which begins April 15. They have even gone as far as enforcing language in his contract that would prohibit him from receiving a $3 million roster bonus. Having a hard time feeling bad for Revis? You shouldn’t. When the star cornerback renegotiated his deal in 2010, he agreed that he would participate in approximately 80 percent of the workouts or he would forfeit bonuses that amount to a cool $3 million. On another note, why does it always seem that Namath needs to inject his opinion in the latest Jets news? Whether it’s Rex Ryan, Mark Sanchez or … dare I say … Tim Tebow, Namath always has something to say. Whatever it takes to keep him relevant, I guess.
