Jockey Ramon Dominguez has been transferred to a Manhattan hospital as he recovers from a skull fracture suffered in a spill at Aqueduct last week.
Dominguez was moved on Tuesday from Jamaica Hospital in Queens, where he was in the intensive care unit, to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
''Ramon is doing really well and resting comfortably,'' his wife Sharon said in a statement.
''I can't thank the doctors and staff enough at Jamaica Hospital for the superb care they provided to Ramon. With an injury like this, we thought it was important to seek a second opinion, which is why we decided to change hospitals.''
There is no timetable for when he will be released from the hospital, or when he might resume riding.
Dominguez, winner of the past three Eclipse Awards as the nation's leading rider, was injured on Friday when his mount Convocation fell and he was thrown to the inner dirt course.
Dominguez set the North American record last year as his mounts earned $25.5 million.
