Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson said over the weekend that Tony Romo had "by far" his best practice of training camp on Saturday.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones agreed on Tuesday, saying Romo had "a good weekend."

Jones also assured that Romo will take "some snaps" against Baltimore in Saturday's preseason game at AT&T Stadium.

"Now, we just need to be smart about it, let him get a good feel for it out there," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. "I don't see him in there for a half or anything like that. But I do think he can take a couple of series."

Romo did not take a snap in the preseason opener in San Diego on Thursday. The plan has been for Romo, who had December back surgery, to play in the second and third preseason games.

Romo is expected to play against the Ravens on Saturday and again the following Saturday when the Cowboys travel to Miami.
